I am Zamros, I play Zerg and I am VERY bad at playing Starcraft.
This blog is just something I started to record my experience in Starcraft 2, and learn from the mistakes I make whilst climbing up the leagues.
I used to play Protoss, but after experimenting with the other 2 races, I switched to Zerg because I found it more fun. (Don't worry, I used to suck at Protoss as well).
I started off Season 5 with my Placement match.
I wasn't expecting much seeing as I have never left bronze.
I opened up against a Terran, which I hate playing against when I play Zerg. I spawn on the bottom left corner of Tal'darim Altar, opening up with a safe 14/14, sending my Overlord to the base to the north. Forgetting to spawn an Overlord on 9, I'm forced to extractor trick in order to keep my economy level. When my Overlord eventually does spawn, I send it to the base to the right of me and as I begin my spawning pool and Extractor, an SCV wanders into my base. I send a drone after him, but he leads me to the base on the top right side of the map. I realise that he is in the base in the bottom right, so spawn 2 groups of Zerglings and send them to his base.
My lings arrive at his base as he is finishing a wall off, I start off attacking his supply depots and my Zerglings get massacred by his safely tucked away marines.
My Overlord then arrives at his base and I see that he has 3 Barracks down, I turn around, but he gets gunned down by the same marines that killed my Zerglings.
Realising that he is going to marine rush me, I build a Baneling nest and put down a hatchery on the natural expansion. Before it's even finished, a Zergling that I have sent to scout spots a huddle of 8 marines, 2 marauders and an SCV. Knowing that I am going to face this early push, I put some Zerglings outside my Expansion which is still building.
However, he arrives before they have finished morphing, and my pathetic 4 Banelings are decimated before they do any damage.
After they kill off my expansion, I hide some sneaky Zerglings round their corner, and morph them into Banelings, however they only kill the marines, and the incoming deathball of Marauders destroy my base.
The game ended with me having 2108 Minerals, 153 Vespene Gas, 1/24 supply, and him having 1034 Minerals, 575 Vespene Gas and 51/51 supply.
I don't want to bore you with my war stories on my first post so I'll tell you straight up. I played 4 more games, one against Terran, 2 against Zerg and 1 against Protoss. Losing all of them in a similar fashion but over different lengths of time, I rage quit and attempt to enjoy new years eve. I start the same, I react to what he's doing, my units are killed, a deathball of things attack my base.
So before I begin my long, arduous treck towards climbing up the ladder, can you suggest something for me to do to improve my fortunes as a Zerg player?
